松原神社は近衛天皇久安年間の歓請との伝あるも創祀の時期は不明。
後醍醐天皇の頃当所に真鶴が棲み、故に鶴の森明神と称していたともいうが、
一説には当社は山王原村松原にあったとも言われ、後奈良天皇天文年間、
山王原村海中より金佛の十一面観音が松原に出現、託宣により当社へ祀った
ことから神号を松原大明神と称したともいう。その後北條氏が小田原を治めるに至り、社領を寄進するなど代々当社を崇敬した。 天文十四年三月、小田原海岸に現れた大亀を土地の者が当社の池に持参 したところ、北條氏康これを聞き、吉兆なりとて参詣、鏡を取寄せて亀の甲に 置き、亀鏡は即ち目出度きいわれありと一門悉く招いて万歳の祝盃を給い、 大亀を海へ放ちて後、同月二十二日社前にて四座の太夫により法楽能七番、 次いで 泰平楽 にて舞い納めしめたという。又、元亀三年五月には社中酒掃の 掟書を出し、岡本越前守を検使として厳密な御沙汰があり、町方より百人の 人出で境内の掃除に当たったという。 寛永九年より稲葉氏、貞亨三年より大久保氏の領地となるも尊崇の念は変わらず、 社費は総て藩財を以てこれにあて、代々小田原の宿十九町の総鎮守とした。 明治二年松原神社と改称し、明治六年一月県社に列せられ今日に至る。 |
| 幾多の変遷あるも古くは多く正月十四・十五日を例祭とし九月九・十日を小祭 とし、明治四十二年より正月十四・十五・十六日と定めたが、第二次大戦後再び 変遷を繰返している。祭日には年番町を定めて当社の大御輿をかつぎ、浜下りの 神事のあと各町を回り、各町また山車、屋台、御輿を出す。 松原神社例祭は小田原最大の祭りとして知られ、 山車で奏する小田原囃子は江戸葛西囃子の流れを汲む ものとして氏子中古新宿に生まれ広く近隣に囃され近年多古保存会が 神奈川県無形文化財に指定されている。 |

正月も終わり一月十五、十六日がくると氏神様松原神社の例祭で、これは関東地方
でも珍しい寒中の祭りである。 もちろん屋台や山車も出るが、なんと言っても神輿がこの日の花形である。担ぎ手は 千度小路と古新宿の威勢のいい漁師連で、毎年両日の午後は年番交替で担ぐ掟になって いる。漁師は下着の上に「しらはり」と言う揃いの浴衣をまとい。鉢巻き、襷に 地下足袋姿が昔ながらの慣わしである。 神輿は宮出しされまず千度小路下りの海岸へ下りて、海の安全とその年の豊漁を祈り、 それが済むと宮之前通りへと戻ってくる。 漁師は、日頃船の出し入れでその肩は人一倍丈夫で強い。やがて木遣唄がかけられ、 それが終わるか終わらぬうち、神輿は既に猪突猛進。その勢いはものすごく、四、五十 メートルは一気に突っ走る。そして一息つくと、今度は重い神輿を高々と持ち上げて ゆざぶりをかけ、前後左右、ところ嫌わずのたうち廻るのである。 だが、たまたま沿道ぞいの二階屋から人が見下ろそうものなら、神輿は怒鳴り込みを かけ階下に暴れ込むので、人々はいつも神輿から目をはなさず、こわごわながらの祭り 見物であった。 After the new year day, the Matsubara shrine festival will soon come. This is the earliest festival in Kanto region. Absolutely, many floats participate in it but the most impact is a portable shrine of Matsubara. It's carried by fishermen of Sendokoji(千度小路) and Koshinsyuku(古新宿). They wear "Shirahari" which is an informal cotton Kimono of Yukata wear with their sleeves tucked up. And they wear a pair of Tabi(地下足袋). The portable shrine is soon going to Miyuki beach after getting out from shrine due to wishing safety of fishermen's job. They were very powerful 'Cause a portable shrine is soon dash to 40 or 50 meters. And they bring it to high as they shake it after dash. |

各町内から廿十台余も山車や、屋台が出た。十四日の宵宮には、氏子町は御神灯の
丸提灯を出し、夕刻からは数十人の漁師が神前に、舟唄を奉納して、海上の平安を
祈願した。 十五日には神輿渡御があり、もみにもんで終日賑わう。 There were over 20 floats from people under the protection of the local deity at Matsubara shrine's festival. Especially 14th evening, many fishermen gathered front of the shrine. They offered shrine's god their Kiyari songs in order to pray safety for their fishing job. At 15th, there were many portable shrines to gather front of Matsubara shrine for final festival. |

「一部抜粋」 小田原市の総鎮守の氏神松原神社は明治以後たびたび祭典の日を変更した。 春祭りは一月十四日、十五日の両日に創社以来何百年も決まっていたものであるが、 明治元年から祭日が変動し始めた。 ただしこの年の場合は止むを得なかった事で、明治元年一月一日に入ろうとする前日の 慶応三年十二月の大晦日に上幸田の小田原藩士嶋村又一方から出火して町内の大火とった。 この年五月 戊申箱根戦没 が起きて大騒ぎとなり、人心兢々のうちに日が過ぎて十一月十八日 に祭典を行ったのである。 明治二年には古例の通り正月十五日に行ったが、それより数年して明治五年に何故か 三月に改めたところ、明治六年にはまた一月十五日にかえし、明治七年にまたまた四月 十八日になった。 これ以降も変遷を続け、やっと安定したのが明治四十二年で、この時古例の一月十四・十五日 の両日の上に十六日を加えて三日間と定めた。これが大正から昭和二十年代までそのまま続いて 来たから、もうこのままで永久に行くのかと思ったらそうではなかった。 その後四月十四日、十五日、十六日の三日間になり、現在では五月の三日、四日、五日 の三日間となっている。こんなに祭日が変更される神社は少ないのである。・・・云々 同社の大祭の時、神輿が１年交替で古新宿と千度小路の両方の浜方の人達によって 担がれて浜降りする事が古くからの例であったのは、この神社が初め漁村集落であった 両町の氏神として崇敬された海神時代の名残を持っていたものであろう。しかし、神社の 位置は小田原市内の中央であるし、日本武尊を奉祀するとあって、城下町の発展と共に 氏子を全市に拡大し、武家の人々からも信仰され、ついに今日のように 小田原最大の氏神として発展する様に なったのである。・・・云々 |
Matsubara shrine which was called Odawara city total tutelary often changed festival the day's schedule after Meiji era. Main festival days were 14, 15-January both 2 days since the shrine establishment from several hundred years. The first year of the Meiji era, at 1-January of new year day it has happened disaster around near the Odawara station. This fire had become the big fire around town. And this year, the Boshin war had happened at Hakone mountain therefore Matsubara shrine's festival had taken place at 18-Nov in this year. After this, the festival had taken place at original 14, 15-January but 5-Meiji year the festival schedule suddenly decided to change to March but 6-Meiji year the schedule had changed again to original January. Next, 7-Meiji year the festival schedule changed 18-April. After this, Matsubara shrine's festival the day's schedule always changed until 42-Meiji year. It had made a decision original day of 14, 15-January finally. People under the protection of the local deity thought it's final decision. But it's not. The festival day's schedule changed again at Showa era. It changed during 14, 15, 16-April. And now, Matsubara shrine festival is taking place during 3, 4, 5-May. There's no similar shrine like a change schedule… The portable shrine was carried by both Koshinsyuku-Ryugu(古新宿) and Sendokoji-Ryugu(千度小路) every year alternately. It goes without saying their job was almost fisherman therefore the portable shrine was always brought to Miyuki beach during the shrine's festival. But the shrine built in central Odawara city and Yamato-Takeru(日本武尊) is shrine's main worship god. By this Matsubara shrine has grown the most biggest shrine in an Odawara city. |

１９６８年（明治元年）正月を迎えたが、前年（慶応三年）大晦日の大火のためか、
この正月は恒例の藩主に対する年賀もなく、正月十五日の松原神社の祭礼も中止された。 この時の様子を関老母（千渡小路の質屋善左衛門の妻女）は日記に次の様に書いている。 「辰正月十五日は明神様（松原神社）のお祭りも取り止めになり、町の人達は荷物を在へ 運び始め、世間はそうぞうしくなりました。十八日の朝にも戦争が始まるかの様に皆様は 言っていました。家の普請に来ていた大工も半日で仕事を止めてしまい、まるで下々の戦 の様です。二十日には荷物を在へ送る事を御所様より差し止められました。二十一日には 騒ぎも静まる様な気がして普請も少しずつ進めていますが心は油断していません。家の二つ の蔵に沢山ある物品を預けている人が、金を持たずに受け取りに来て、断ると土蔵では戦の 場合安心出来ないから在へ預けろと毎日の様に掛合に来て困ってしまいます。実に途方に くれるという事は、この様な事かと思います。」 来るべき戦争を予想して、町方の人々が荷物の疎開に狂う様子が良く出ている。この庶民の 予想は遠からず的中するところとなり、小田原藩は幕末の騒乱の渦に巻き込まれる事となっ た。 |

In 1968, there's no new year's greetings due to a fire breaks out at central Odawara city. Matsubara shrine festival that takes place 15-January every year, wasn't able to open by this fire incident. This essay which was written by Mrs.Seki (She lived in Sendokoji) leave this message. In this year, Matsubara shrine festival that takes place 15-January every year is cancellation. Not only many citizens that lives in this town started to save their baggage in order to run away but also a carpenter has stopped their construction. Then many citizens are talking each other, "A war will soon start." 20-January, they are stopped to save baggage by order of a boss. 21-January, an uproar looks like quieting down but we don't become peace of mind. These days, citizens that their many goods deposits in my storehouse come here every day due to save it without money. We are really bewildering. After this, an uproar hit because Odawara was to be involved in a war. |
